Colour Measurement
The measurement of colour is important as a quality control parameter in many industries, especially food and drink. The bench-top spectrophotometer is not particularly suitable for colour measurement because expensive integrating spheres are required. On the other hand, the foc (fibre optic coupled) instrument excels at this type of measurement because it can scan samples so quickly.
AstraNet offers a six-around-one reflectance probe for small sample areas, a unique probe with 0/45 geometry and a larger 0/45 geometry reflectance accessory. This latter accessory is particularly useful for measuring the reflectance spectra of powders. In the visible region of the spectrum, these accessories are used to measure the colour of solid objects over the wavelength range 400-700nm.
